What it does
PlastikCAD is a desktop app for bashing out a part from a few simple shapes. Drop boxes, cylinders and wedges on the plate, add a gear, a pulley or a threaded rod made to your numbers, turn some of it into holes, group, and export a file for your slicer. It's the Tinkercad way of modeling, without the cloud and without the clutter.
It runs locally on Linux, Windows, macOS and Android. Nothing leaves your machine unless you link a Google Drive.
Parts made to your numbers
Gears of every common kind (spur, helical, herringbone, ring, rack, bevel, worm), timing pulleys and chain sprockets, metric bolts, nuts and lead screws, aluminum rail, pipes and ducts, fans, panel connectors and motor mounts. Dev boards (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, ESP32, Jetson) come with their real outlines, mounting holes and sockets, ready for standoffs or a case. Every part is just an object: group it, cut it, scale it.
Robot mode
Turn a design into a robot for ROS 2, Gazebo, MuJoCo and Isaac Sim. Every top-level object becomes a link, joints set how the links move (with figures from real servo, gearmotor and stepper datasheets), and a slider tries the range of motion before you export. Pair it with PlastikWorld to build the world the robot runs in.
Export
STL, 3MF (a part per color for multi-material printing), OBJ and GLB, plus SVG and DXF outlines for laser cutters and CNC.
